Create A Number Line with Positive and Negative Integers

This free number line activity will help your students understand negative and positive integers.  Students often struggle with negative numbers, and often need visual help to grasp that -1 is larger than -3, etc. With this activity, students will construct their own number line and label numbers with the same absolute values.

I recommend allowing your students to keep their own number line in their notebook or folder for reference when adding or subtracting integers.  This activity is designed to be for both individual work and cooperative groups, with easy to follow instructions that are perfect for math stations and centers.
